Note on Educational Documents

The International Education Center will review your educational documents and equate your course work to U.S. grade equivalencies.

  • Generally, freshman applicants are not required to use an outside professional credential evaluation agency, unless we are unable to verify your documents.
  • If required, the international transcript evaluation done by an outside agency must come from an agency which is a member of NACES and must be supported with official transcripts that are sent directly to Georgia College & State University from your prior institution. Please note that applicants with foreign Nursing credentials may submit credential evaluations from CGFNS International, Inc

Educational Experiences

All educational experience must be supported by official documents submitted directly from the appropriate issuing institution(s) to Georgia College.  They must list the courses taken (with credits/points or hours per course and grades awarded), and any educational degrees, certificates, and/or awards received.

  • If documents are not in English, they must include an official (certified or attested) English translation.
  • Supporting documentation must bear the institution's original seal or stamp, plus the signature of an authorized official of the issuing institution.

Photocopies

In some instances - particularly when it is not possible to obtain original documents - Georgia College may be able to accept a photocopy of the original education documentation. In such cases, the photocopied document(s) must be certified (authenticated) and bear an original seal or stamp of the issuing institution, plus the original signature of that institution's authorized designated official - or that of a U.S. Consular or U.S. Educational official outside of the United States.

  • For assistance regarding the certification of photocopies - or help on how to proceed if no documents related to prior education are obtainable - applicants are encouraged to contact an EducationUSA Advising Center in their region.
  • Important: Certification with a Notary signature is not sufficient.
Test Scores

Applicants must request that the appropriate testing authority send exam scores directly to Georgia College. Only official scores will be accepted.
